Open Days in the European Parliament

Brussels, 5 May 2007

On the 5th of May in Brussels the European Parliament opened its doors to the public. Citizens were invited to visit the Parliament and take part in various activities. The event marks part of this year's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome.

As in previous years in Brussels, the EPP-ED Group invited its Belgian parties to participate in the Open days alongside its own presentation stands. The CD&V/N-VA and the CDH-CSP were present with the participation of Ivo Belet MEP and Frederika Brepoels MEP.

Rodi Kratsa-Tsagaropoulou MEP (Greece), Vice-President of the European Parliament, officially inaugurated the open day with her Majesty, Queen Paola of Belgium. The EPP-ED Group had exhibitions in both seats of the Parliament, enabling visitors to learn more about its history, founding fathers, and vision for the future.
