Open Days in the European ParliamentStrasbourg, 4 May 2008
|On Sunday 4 May, the European Parliament in Strasbourg opened its doors to the public. Citizens were invited to visit the Parliament and take part in various activities. This year, the event celebrated the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue as well as focusing on the new face of the European Union once the Lisbon Treaty is ratified in all Member States.
|As in the past, the EPP-ED Group invited its French and German parties, the UMP and the CDU-CSU, to participate in the Strasbourg Open days alongside its own presentation stands. The Open Days are a unique opportunity for the public to acquaint itself with the working of the representative body of the European Union and to talk to Members of the European Parliament in informal surroundings.
